Taking over from the N14 series of engines, the ISX engine has become vastly popular in the Automotive On Highway Industry. Having moved with the times, the ISX – QSX series has undergone several upgrades over the years with many of the engines being used in industrial and agricultural applications.
As well as horsepower upgrades, the engines internals have also been upgraded, with the old 2 piece pistons being upgraded to a single 1 piece monotherm piston.

The Cummins N14 series of engines took over from the Cummins 855 series of engines in the late 80's, early 90's and ran all the way through to the early 2000's where they were replaced by the Cummins ISX range of engines.
Working with the basic design of the 855's, the N14's were made with electronic features designed to meet the EPA's requirements and were then used in Automotive, agricultural and some industrial applications

There are several liners available for the Cummins N14 Series Engine, as the cylinder blocks became older they became worn and fretted in the seal and counterbore ares. To overcome this issue Cummins manufactured a .020/.040 liner, giving the engine another lease of life.
